The Ford Maverick sold-out quickly for the entire 2022 model year. It's popularity is based on a number of factors: great size for those who don't need a massive pickup truck; plenty of passenger room in the rear seat; ample cargo bed with a low load height; nice amenities; and a fantastically low starting MSRP of only $20,995. It's the Ford truck for people who want to get back to the basics. As popular as the Maverick was in 2022, it's going to be even more popular in 2023, when the Ford Maverick Raptor and Ford Maverick Tremor join the lineup. Today, let's talk about the Tremor, because we think it's going to appeal to a lot of people.
Introducing the 2023 Ford Maverick Tremor
While the 2022 Ford Maverick was perfect for those who wanted some of the basic utilitarian features of a truck without stepping up to the larger, more expensive full-sized trucks on the market today, the 2023 Maverick Tremor will please those who anticipate the need to travel rougher terrain, but still want the benefits of a more compact size at a truly entry-level price point.
Specifically, the 2023 Maverick lineup will off a version with the Tremor Off-Road package. Highlights of the Tremor package include a 1-inch lift for improved ground clearance, Trail Control, enhanced front and rear suspension, and advance all-wheel drive (AWD) with four-wheel-drive lock.
Trail Control operates along the lines of cruise control, but for off-road driving. The driver determines the desired speed, then Trail Control manages the throttle and brakes to maintain a constant speed while the driver focuses on the terrain.
Performance is further enhanced with a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine, as well as the aforementioned off-road suspension. The Maverick Tremor also features a heavy-duty transmission cooler and upgraded half-shafts.
It Even Looks More Capable
With beefier suspension and a slight lift, the Maverick Tremor is naturally going to look a bit more trail ready. However, the designers at Ford wanted to further distinguish this capable off-road model with some visual cues. These include a different look to the front grill, along with blacked-out Ford emblems, headlights and taillights. The front two hooks will sport the signature Tremor orange. If buyers want to push the off-road look even further, there is an appearance package that adds a "Carbonized Gray" painted roof and mirror caps, plus black side graphics on the hood and lower body.
The Maverick Tremor will also include 17-inch aluminum wheels with a distinctive Tremor Orange and dark gray anodized finish and all-terrain tires. There is also a lower front fascia that allows for a more aggressive approach and skid plates for added protection.
Inside the 2023 Maverick Tremor, Black Onyx seats display stitched Tremor logos and Tremor Orange accents. Those same orange accents are repeated elsewhere in the interior, such as the center console and door trim.
