America's best-selling truck for the past 43 years just cleared some new milestones. The 2021 Ford F-150 will now be available in a hybrid powertrain and the most powerful engine yet. The auto world has been buzzing about the launch of Ford's first hybrid pickup truck, and the wait is nearly over. Official targeted performance numbers for the 2021 Ford F-150 were released in September and, boy, are they impressive. The PowerBoost™ Full Hybrid V6 boasts an incredible 430 ponies and 570 lb-ft of torque†. The targeted EPA-estimated range is 700 miles!* Plus, Pro Power Onboard lets you use your truck like a generator, and, with the Hybrid V6, you'll get 7.2kW of available output.
Along with the new Hybrid powertrain option, the new 2021 F-150 will have five more powertrains to choose from with the following specs:
- 3.3-liter Ti-VCT V6: 290-hp, 265 lb-ft torque
- tows up to 8,200 lbs, max payload of 1,985 lbs
- 2.7-liter EcoBoost® V6: 325-hp, 400 lb-ft torque
- tows up to 10,100 lbs, max payload of 2,480 lb
- 5.0-liter V8: 400-hp, 410 lb-ft torque
- tows up to 13,000 lbs, max payload of 3,325 lb
- 3.0-liter Power Stroke diesel V6: 250-hp, 440 lb-ft of torque
- tows up to 12,100 lbs, max payload of 1,840 lb
- 3.5-liter EcoBoost® V6: 400-hp, 500 lb-ft torque
- tows up to 14,000 lbs, max payload of 3,250 lb
- 3.5-liter PowerBoost™ V6 Hybrid: 430-hp, 570 lb-ft torque
- tows up to 12,700 lbs, max payload of 2,120 lbs
The 3.3-liter, 2.7-liter, and diesel remain unchanged from 2020 as far as horsepower and torque. The 5.0-liter V8 added 5-hp and 10 lb-ft of torque, and the 3.5-liter EcoBoost® increased by 25-hp and 30 lb-ft of torque. But the Hybrid engine is the king of the pack, by a long shot. And people were worried electric trucks couldn't handle the job.
Horsepower, torque and towing capacity are all well and good, but you're going to driving this truck day in and day out, so Ford made sure you can enjoy driving and riding in the new F-150. The all-new interior is enhanced with new materials, equipped with the latest smart tech - SYNC® 4, that includes over-the-air updates, and has convenient features like Max Recline Seats that lay almost totally flat so that you can rest as hard as you work. An 8-inch touchscreen comes standard, but upgrade to the F-150 Lariat or higher and get a massive 12-inch touchscreen standard.
