For the 2021 model year, the Ford Edge is getting, well, an edge over other crossover SUVs in its class. The new 2021 Ford Edge will come standard with a massive 12-inch center stack touchscreen - up from 8-inches - which will be powered by the new standard SYNC®4A infotainment and communication system. Geared toward tech-savvy, style conscious drivers, the new Edge offers the latest in auto technology and even more style options in 2021.
SYNC® 4A is the latest iteration of the Ford SYNC infotainment technology and will offer over-the-air updates, so you can be sure that your Edge has the latest apps, driver assist features and connectivity. Connected Built-In Navigation is an optional add-on that features information on traffic, gas stations, where to find parking, as well as hazard updates and weather information. And it is all stored in the cloud. So you can rely on your navigation even well off the beaten path. Voice activated controls allow you to seamlessly, and safely, respond to text messages, search for directions and always have the latest, most accurate information at your command.
Enjoy wireless Wi-Fi enabled Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ connectivity and SYNC AppLink on the giant 12-inch touchscreen. There are also two new USB ports added to the 2021 Edge, giving a total of four. The 2021 Ford Edge is among the first Ford to receive the updated SYNC® 4A, along with the upcoming Ford Mustang Mach-E, Ford Bronco, and new hybrid F-150. Fitting, as the Edge was the first Ford SUV to offer Ford Co-Pilot360 as a standard feature. The 2021 Ford Edge builds up the Ford Co-Pilot360 features and will include:
- Evasive Steering Assist
- Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go and Lane Centering
- Enhanced Park Assist
- 180-degree front camera
Stylistically, the new Ford Edge now offers a choice between nine wheel options, including a 21-inch gloss black-painted aluminum wheel for the Edge ST. Two more interior and two new exterior colors are available. The Edge ST-Line returns for the 2021 model year, introduced in 2020 as an affordable alternative to the more powerful ST. The ST-Line gets all of the design upgrades of the ST but without the more powerful engine.
The Ford Edge ST-Line is made for those who like the upscale appearance of the top-tier Edge ST, but are happy with the standard four-cylinder turbocharged engine. Which, at 250-hp, is no wimp. For those who prefer more power, the Edge ST elevates the engine to a 335-hp twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 along with all-wheel-drive, standard.
Overall, the Ford Edge is an affordable, spacious, handsome crossover with plenty of smart storage spaces and up-to-date safety features. Fans will enjoy the largest-in-its-class touchscreen and the enhanced Ford SYNC® 4A infotainment system. Great for getting around the city, maneuvering stop-and-go traffic, yet still capable of heading off-road, choose the Ford Edge for a fun, easy drive that won't break the bank.
