For the 2016 model year, Ford has redesigned the Edge. With this redesign, will also come a new steering system that will make it easier to navigate parking lots and result in smoother lane changes when cruising down the highway. We introduce to you the Edge's new electronic adaptive steering system

This new system will come standard on all 2016 Edges with the Titanium or Sport trim levels. How it works is that it uses an electric motor and a series of gears to vary the steering ratio based on the vehicle's speed. At low speeds, the system makes the wheels turn more relative to the number of steering wheel turns. At higher speeds, the wheels turn less aggressively, resulting in smoother lane changes.
