2021 Ford F-150 and Mustang Mach-E Take Home Truck and Utility Vehicle of the Year Awards

Ford beat out some very tough competition and won two of the three 2021 North American Vehicle of the Year (NACTOY) awards. The new Ford Mustang Mach-E was crowned North American Utility Vehicle of the Year™, while the Ford F-150 was awarded North American Truck of the Year™.

To determine the North American Car, Truck, and Utility Vehicle of the Year™, 50 professional automotive journalists – not associated with a single publication, website, radio or television station – judged from 43 eligible vehicles. These were whittled down to 27 semifinalists and then to the top nine finalists. Entries are judged on design, safety, innovation, handling, segment leadership, value and driver satisfaction.

The new Ford F-150 beat out the Jeep Gladiator Mojave and Ram 1500TRX to take home the 2021 North American Truck of Year Award™. It is not hard to see why! The 2021 Ford F-150 has a ton of new features, most notably the new PowerBoost hybrid drivetrain. The best-selling truck now comes with a 3.5-L PowerBoost™ full hybrid V6 that produces 430-horsepower, 570 lb-ft of torque, and has 12,700 lbs of towing capacity!* Plus, you can go up to 700 miles in one tank with fewer emissions. The 2021 F-150 boasts both best-in-class available towing and best-in-class available payload**.

Aside from the hybrid option, the 2021 F-150 offers a slew of new features. The all-new interior features the latest Ford infotainment system, SYNC4®, on an available 12-inch touchscreen. The cabin is designed so that you can turn it into a literal office on wheels, with a stow-away shifter and center console table that unfolds to hold your laptop or lunch. Pro Power Onboard allows you to use your F-150 truck as a mobile generator. Available Max Recline Seats recline to be flat, meaning you can rest as hard as you work, no matter where you land.

The all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E, 2021 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year™, balances quiet power and torque with a plush, high-tech interior and zero emissions. This best-of-all-worlds design helped the Mach-E beat out the Land Rover Defender and Genesis GV80 to claim the 2021 Utility Vehicle of the Year title.

The new Ford Mustang Mach-E boasts a minimum of 266 horsepower in the standard Select model and goes up to 480-hp in the Mach-E GT eAWD. Torque starts at 317 lb.-ft. in the RWD models and increases to 428 lb.-ft. with eAWD, or a whopping 600 lbs of torque in the Mustang Mach-E GT. All models get up to 300 miles in one charge† and average 0-60 speeds in the 5-second range.

Inside the new Mach-E crossover, you'll find a giant 15.5-inch touchscreen equipped with Ford's latest infotainment system and advanced connectivity. Since the electric battery is underneath the floor of the car, cabin space is maximized, meaning there is plenty of room for five plus all your gear. Add the available panoramic fixed-glass roof and Bang & Olufsen sound system, and you've got a luxury performance SUV with the power and style of a Mustang. With no gas engine up front, Ford includes a washable and water-resistant front trunk. Perfect for muddy camping gear or filling with ice and adding your favorite beverages.

The 2021 Mustang Mach-E makes charging easy. Use the included Ford Mobile Charger to recharge at home, upgrade to the Ford Connected Charge Station to charge in less time, or visit any of the FordPass™ Charging Network stations to charge on-the-go.

Both the Ford F-150 and Ford Mustang Mach-E come with Ford CoPilot360™'s advanced safety features and driver-assistive technology. Both models are also equipped with over-the-air updates, ensuring your Ford will always have the latest technology, features, and content.
