2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E

The market is full of alternative-fuel vehicles, and that's a good thing. Driving an alt-fuel vehicle is great for our environment, as it is an effective way of reducing our carbon footprint. Additionally, many alt-fuel vehicles include some incredible tax credits and benefits.

If you're in the market for an alt-fuel vehicle, consider this: drivers of all-electric Ford vehicles enjoy access to the largest electric vehicle public charging network in North America. With over 12,000 charging stations, including direct current (DC) fast charging, and over 35,000 charge plugs, drivers of electric Ford's enjoy unparalleled access to charging stations.

The reason behind so many charging stations:
Nearly half of all customers in the alt-fuel vehicle market, which includes all-electric and plug-in hybrid models, have expressed a very real concern over the availability of charging stations. They worry, Why buy an electric vehicle if there isn't a place to charge it?

To address this infrastructure concern and customer hesitancy surrounding electric vehicle ownership, Ford adopted a very aggressive all-electric vehicle charging strategy, which includes:

  • comprehensive at-home charging options
  • developing and implementing the nation's largest network of public charging stations
  • easy access to DC fast charging

By increasing the availability of charging options and charging stations, Ford has effectively eliminated one of the primary barriers surrounding electric vehicles, which is a green benefit we can all be thankful for.

What separates Ford in-home charging from the rest of the EV market?
Simply put, Ford has made charging your vehicle as easy as charging your phone. Let's break it down.

1) Drivers of all electric Ford models may choose the available Ford Connected Charge Station, which comes with tons of connectivity features, including:

  • higher powered 48-amp Ford Connected Charge Station, which puts the driver in full control of charging no matter where they
  • the ability to fully power a vehicle overnight
  • an estimated average range of 32 miles per charging hour
  • a realistic solution for drivers with longer commutes

2) All Ford electric vehicles come standard with a Ford Mobile Charger, which includes:

  • the ability to charge on a higher-voltage 240-volt electrical outlet (eg., an outlet often used for large household appliances such as a clothes dryer), which results in an estimated range of 22 miles per charging hour
  • compatibility with a standard 120-volt electrical outlet, which results in an average range of three miles per charging hour

3) The Ford/Amazon partnership makes charging an electric Ford as easy as pie. Through Amazon Home Services, Ford all-electric vehicles include installation of home charging setups. This includes installation of either the 240-volt outlet or, if you choose the Ford Connected Charge Station, then you'll receive upfront pricing estimates and an opportunity to schedule an installation with a licensed and vetted electrician.

What separates the FordPass Charging Network from the rest of the EV market?
In short, abundance.

  1. Ford all-electric drivers enjoy two years of complimentary access to the largest public charging network, aka the FordPass Charging Network. For easy and convenient pay-as-you-drive charging, the FordPass Charging Network includes more than 12,000 charging stations with more than 35,000 plugs.
  2. Ford is working with Greenlots, an innovative EV charging software and solutions provider, to bring even more charging providers to its all-electric customers. This partnership will help make it even easier for drivers to find and pay for charging through FordPass.
  3. In collaboration with Electrify America, the FordPass Charging Network provides access to DC fast chargers, which significantly reduce the amount of time it takes to recharge. For example, an Electric America DC fast charger allows customers to charge their battery from 10 to 80% in 45 minutes.
  4. The FordPass app also allows customers to set charging schedules and alerts so they are always informed and up-to-date with the status of their vehicle's charge. Additionally, when on the road, drivers can use the FordPass app to see a location of nearby charging stations.

In a Ford, you'll enjoy access to the largest electric vehicle charging network in the U.S. and that means a hassle-free electric lifestyle.
