Meet the 2019 Ford Ranger

There’s a lot to look forward to in the all-new midsize 2019 Ford Ranger pickup. It’s ready for adventure and boasts a best-in-class payload, gas engine torque, and towing capability. Let’s a take a closer look at these exceptional new features.

“Think of Ranger as the biggest and most capable backpack for your gear,” says Rick Bolt, Ford Ranger chief engineer. That’s because the 2019 Ford Ranger promises a max payload of 1,860 pounds, which is just shy of saying — the Ford Ranger can literally haul a ton of gear. With a payload of this size, the possibilities are endless.

The 2019 Ford Ranger’s standard 2.3-liter EcoBoost® is capable of producing 270 horsepower and 310 lb.-ft. of torque. If you’re wondering, “Is that the most engine-turning power of any gas engine in the midsize pickup segment, including V6 engines from Ford’s competitors?” Then let us enlighten you, yes, it is. The 2019 Ford Ranger is a best-in-class pickup in more ways than one. And, when you pair that type of power with the Ranger’s class-exclusive 10-speed transmission, you’re looking at the type of power and capability that’s almost exclusively Ford.

Seems like Ford was unsatisfied with two best-in-class boasts and had to go for three, because the 2019 Ford Ranger’s towing capability? You guessed it, it’s best-in-class. The Ranger’s high-strength steel frame and solid rear axle with Hotchkiss suspension allows the Ranger to tow 7,500 pounds when equipped with the tow package and a trailer brake controller, which is more than any gas engine truck in its class.

Production of the 2019 Ford Ranger begins later this year, but if you have any questions about this best-in-class pickup truck, stop by our Richmond Ford dealership. The Hilltop Ford sales team will review all the Ranger trim levels and features you have to look forward to.
